Jewels....Land of dreamz..oops Flowers!!!

After hectic week dayz schedule, we planned to take a break by a long (but not soo looong!!) ride to Birmingham (the city of Indians in UK!!) from Ipswich on 26th May 2007...

On the sunny cum cloudy day, on these beautiful roads we had to enroute to Warwickshire...

Before landing n the city, we had plans to visit Warwick castle, which is one of England's finest examples of a mediaeval Castle. With over a thousand years of history, this castle was first fortified by William the Conqueror in 1068. For centuries the castle was the home of some of the most powerful Earls in England. The Earl of Warwick influenced the battles between the houses of York and Lancaster in the famous Wars of the Roses.
The grounds were landscaped by 'Capability Brown' and over the years the estate and residence were transformed into a grand Stately Home. George IV, Queen Victoria, Prince Albert and Edward VII were very familiar with Warwick Castle and its hospitality. The collections of furniture, tapestries, painting and amour make this a memorable attraction. Though this is nothing when referred to palaces back home, but History speaks!!!

Then we enter the city which is enriched with history of craft and jewelers dating back 100s of years!! We had a chance to go around one hour guided tour {Offered twice a day, really worth it!!} inside ‘Jewellery quarter Discovery Centre’, which captures its history and unravels some of the mysteries behind the goldsmiths traditions and craftsmanship. This is the result cum hardship put in by a family (firm) called Smith and Pepper. This centre cum museum now has some interesting facts of inventory, fascinating ways of attracting people to wear GOLD!!!

Need a lunch-break, then enter Soho road, where we find lot of desi hotels, cum gurudwaras

Engagement.......A New Union....!!

We're Engaged! A binding, pledging... A New Union!
Sushma<->Shiva Prakash
Engagement is truly a magnificent stage of our life. Announcing our Engagement traditionally on 30th April 2007, the groom approached the bride’s father to ask for his daughter’s hand. Then, before the news was made public!!

However, Mrs.and Mr.GuruPrasad had a pleasure in announcing the engagement of their daughter, Sushma to Shiva prakash, son of Mrs. and Mr. Krishnappa. We exchanged the rings with blessing of Elders,Friends & Relativies... Now it was time to celebrate...

"No sooner met but they looked; no sooner looked but they loved; no sooner loved but they sighed; no sooner sighed but they asked one another the reason; no sooner knew the reason but they sought the remedy; and in these degrees have they made a pair of stairs to marriage, which they will climb incontinent, or else be incontinent before marriage." - William Shakespeare

Last but not the least, we had engagement celebration with a lunch with our family, friends and relatives... Then simply relax and enjoy your new status as a happily engaged couple as you begin the magical journey towards your wedding.

Take time to think, It is the source of power. Take time to play, It is the secret of perpetual youth. Take time to laugh, It is the music of the soul. Take time to pray, It is the greatest power on earth....Anonymous
