On the sunny cum cloudy day, on these beautiful roads we had to enroute to Warwickshire...
Before landing n the city, we had plans to visit Warwick castle, which is one of England's finest examples of a mediaeval Castle. With over a thousand years of history, this castle was first fortified by William the Conqueror in 1068. For centuries the castle was the home of some of the most powerful Earls in England. The Earl of Warwick influenced the battles between the houses of York and Lancaster in the famous Wars of the Roses.
The grounds were landscaped by 'Capability Brown' and over the years the estate and residence were transformed into a grand Stately Home. George IV, Queen Victoria, Prince Albert and Edward VII were very familiar with Warwick Castle and its hospitality.
The collections of furniture, tapestries, painting and amour make this a memorable attraction. Though this is nothing when referred to palaces back home, but History speaks!!!
Then we enter the city which is enriched with history of craft and jewelers dating back 100s of years!! We had a chance to go around one hour guided tour {Offered twice a day, really worth it!!} inside ‘Jewellery quarter Discovery Centre’, which captures its history and unravels some of the mysteries behind the goldsmiths traditions and craftsmanship. This is the result cum hardship put in by a family (firm) called Smith and Pepper. This centre cum museum now has some interesting facts of inventory, fascinating ways of attracting people to wear GOLD!!!
Need a lunch-break, then enter Soho road, where we find lot of desi hotels, cum gurudwaras
