Color...Music....Arts...Culture.....Ipswich Indian Mela........

The word Mela means 'to meet' and is used to describe community celebrations and festivals. And certainly the event in Ipswich was open to everybody, not just the Asian community.

The Ipswich Indian Mela was organised by the Ipswich and Suffolk Indian Association in partnership with Ip-art Festival. We got off to a flying start in Christchurch Park, Ipswich at midday on Sunday 8 July and entry was free.:)))
Be it Bhangra or Bollywood, the covered stage provided a wide range of entertainment.Music featured heavily, and Amit Ghorpade from local rock trio The Ferangs were excited to give wonderfull performance....More to Mela than music, there were fashion shows, Indian dance, songs, food, poetry and books, the latter courtesy from the suffolk county's library service.

And if that doesn't grab you - how about henna hand painting or having your name written in Bengali or Hindi script...
Check out few more snaps..

In summary, we ended with more Richness in colour, music, arts and culture. !!
